Depression therapy in Cincinnati

Where can I find "depression therapy near me" that accepts my insurance? . We are proud to offer a diverse team of therapists, all of whom offer therapy for depression.

Depression is more than just feeling sad or going through a difficult time. It is a common mental health condition that can affect how you think, feel, and function in daily life. People experiencing depression may notice persistent low mood, loss of interest in activities they once enjoyed, changes in sleep or appetite, low energy, difficulty concentrating, or feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness. Depression therapy can help you understand what is contributing to these feelings and develop practical tools to move forward. At Inclusive Counseling, our therapists provide evidence-based treatment for depression in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. Through approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness (which is taught in our DBT Skills Class), and other proven methods, therapy can help you build coping skills, improve mood, and reconnect with a sense of meaning and balance in your life.

Behavioral Activation

Behavioral Activation (BA) is a therapy approach used in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to treat depression by helping people gradually increase meaningful and rewarding activities in their daily life. The core idea is that depression often causes people to withdraw, avoid activities, and isolate, which unintentionally makes mood worse. Behavioral activation works by breaking that cycle of avoidance.

Instead of focusing primarily on changing thoughts first, behavioral activation focuses on changing behavior, because behavior strongly influences mood.

All of our providers can help you with behavioral activation techniques!

Major Depressive Disorder

Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is a common but serious mental health condition that affects mood, energy, thinking, and daily functioning. People experiencing major depression may feel persistent sadness, loss of interest in activities they once enjoyed, low motivation, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, changes in sleep or appetite, and feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness. These symptoms can make work, relationships, and everyday responsibilities feel overwhelming. Depression therapy can help individuals understand the underlying factors contributing to their depression and develop effective strategies to improve mood and functioning. At Inclusive Counseling, our therapists provide evidence-based treatment for major depressive disorder, helping clients build coping skills, reconnect with meaningful activities, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Every therapist at Inclusive Counseling can help treat your depression and assess to see if there are other factors to consider. DBT Skills class can also be a fantastic adjunct to traditional therapy when anxiety is ruling your life!
