Please note: Lindsey works from Tri County or virtually with all ages of clients.
My name is Lindsey Smith (she/they), and I am a graduate student at the University of Cincinnati, pursuing a Master's in Mental Health Counseling. I use an integrated approach, combining person-centered counseling and techniques from behavioral therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I have experience with a wide variety of concerns from my time working as a counselor, and I know that someone seeking counseling does not have just one presentation: everyone needs to be heard and feel connection.

I believe that one of the most important things a counselor can provide for clients is a positive therapeutic relationship that can help empower you to live in line with your values and meet your goals. No matter what brings you to counseling, I understand that taking this step requires a lot of vulnerability. I am here to listen, empathize, and be on your team to help you work towards building the life you want to live. It is my hope that counseling can be a safe space for you, so you can feel comfortable working towards your goals in a space without judgment or shame.

I view counseling through a person-centered lens; I seek to understand learn about you from you. You are the expert on your emotions and story and I will not tell you how you should feel. I am here to believe you, listen to you, and to provide you with tools that align with your goals and to hold you in unconditional positive regard. I want to be an ally in this process to help you foster confidence, coping skills, and self-actualization. If this approach sounds right for you, I am available both online or in person. I'm excited to get to know you an help you reach your goals!
