I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio with experience working with children and adults. I graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and I received my master’s degree from Wright State University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have experience providing individual and group counseling in community based settings, school, treatment foster care, and private practice.
I take a relational approach and believe that a genuine and attuned therapeutic relationship is integral to the therapy process. In working with children, I am passionate about the use of play therapy both as a window of insight into a child’s world, as well as a developmentally appropriate modality to process emotions and integrate them into a child’s experience. I use a combination of directive and non-directive play therapy techniques that allow a child to develop communication and coping skills in an approach that is most aligned with their cognitive and social-emotional developmental level.
I also utilize a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy informed interventions to address concerns such as emotional dysregulation, anger management, anxiety, depression, and trauma. In addition I utilize EMDR as a treatment to resolve trauma symptoms through processing traumatic memories and feelings
