I am honored to be considered for your therapist! I have a laid back and warm approach to my practice, and I fully believe that you are the expert on you. I am here to be a witness to your journey to wellness, and to help you realize the best version of yourself.
My main specialty has been working with those that have experienced trauma, whether one event or chronic and complex trauma. Trauma lives in our physical bodies, and I focus on psychoeducation at the beginning of treatment to help you understand how our bodies do this. I then move into somatic approaches to help you better be in control of your body, followed by learning ways to identify triggers, improve symptoms, and find the words to process your trauma. I also look for any other stand-alone mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and mood disorders.
I received my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2013 from Northern Kentucky University. From there I took a position at an emergency children’s home in Barrow, Alaska. When I decided that living in the Arctic wasn’t for me, I moved back to Ohio to complete my hours towards my independent licensure. I worked predominately with children, adolescents, and families who were experiencing a variety of stressors. My main focus since that time has been working with adolescents and adults.
In 2017, I moved to Neah Bay, Washington to work with the Makah Tribe. During my time there, I learned more about the intersection of culture, intergenerational trauma, and mental health. I started my own private practice in Washington in 2020 before my recent decision to move back to Ohio, where I am from originally.
I look forward to working with you, and walking with you on your healing journey!

Custom Design Benefits
Due to insurance billing code and their definitions, family therapy and couples counseling/marital therapy may or may not be covered by insurance. The self-pay rates are: $115 per session for dependently licensed therapist (LPC, LSW, MFT) and $180/session for independently licensed therapist (LISW, LPCC, IMFT). Insurance requires us to identify one person as the patient, diagnose them with a mental health disorder, and then only document what is being done to treat that person via couples work. If the couples work is not related to the person's diagnosis, then it is not likely insurance billable. If the couple does not want to make one person the identified problem, they can opt out of using their insurance.
